Another tragedy was recorded in the early hours of the morning in central Athens where the rider of a motorbike died after a collision with a city bus.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 am when the motorbike driven by the 66-year-old man, moving on Vasileos Konstantinou Avenue, collided at the height of the National Research Foundation with an OASA bus, which at that time was out of service and moving in the same traffic stream.

The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to Evangelismos Hospital but it was already too late as he was fatally injured by the collision.

The Traffic Police is conducting a preliminary investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
