DYPA: Over 40,000 people vacationed in August with social tourism vouchers

The island of Evia emerged as the most popular destination, followed by Halkidiki and Preveza

Newsroom September 3 02:30

A total of 40,234 social tourism vouchers for 2024-2025 issued by the Public Employment Service (DYPA) were activated in tourist accommodations across the country in August, the second month of the program.

According to the announcement, vacations can be taken until June 30, 2025.

Beneficiaries can stay for up to six nights in an accommodation of their choice from the registry of providers, after directly coordinating with the provider, with a small private contribution.

For stays in tourist accommodations on the islands of Leros, Lesbos, Chios, Kos, and Samos, up to 10 nights can be taken for free. In tourist accommodations in Northern Evia, Evros, and Thessaly (excluding Sporades), up to 12 nights can be taken for free.

Subsidy rates remain increased by 20% for the peak month of August, with a corresponding 20% increase also applying for the Christmas period (from 12/15/2024 to 01/14/2025) and Easter (from 04/11/2025 to 04/27/2025).
