A serious traffic accident unfolded last night on Messogion in the descent stream at the height of Agias Paraskevi when a private car hit a cyclist and left him stranded.
The ERT images depict what happened shortly after the collision with the injured man on the tarmac and people gathered to help.
A plice patrol car then arrived and shortly afterwards an ambulance from the ambulance service.
The incident happened at the junction of Messogeion and Agia Paraskevi streets. A short time later, the driver of the car who had left the scene was arrested and claimed that he did not notice the collision.
