As emphasized in the related announcement by the Hellenic Police, in collaboration with the organizers and the responsible authorities, the necessary road signs will be placed. However, the cooperation of drivers is also essential. Drivers are kindly requested to avoid passing through or parking their vehicles on the road network in the areas where traffic regulations will be implemented. This is to ensure better service and avoid traffic issues. Drivers are also advised to follow the signs and instructions given by police officers.
The detailed traffic regulations follow:
A. In Regions of Central Greece:
- Phthiotis: Vehicle stopping, parking, and traffic, as well as pedestrian movement, are prohibited as follows:
- Thursday (September 5, 2024) – S.S. “SHAKEDOWN”
- Start time: 09:01.
- Traffic interruption from 07:30 – 15:00. Length: 3.62 km.
- Prohibition of vehicle stopping, parking, and traffic, as well as pedestrian movement (except for race and organization vehicles):
- On the dirt road connecting the village of Lygaria to the Monastery of Saint Anna, from the village square to the junction with the Lamia – Larissa National Road (Km marker 5.600).
- Additionally, the closure of the right traffic lane in the direction of Larissa on the Lamia – Larissa National Road, from Km marker 5.500 to Km marker 6.500.
- Thursday (September 5, 2024) – “Ceremonial Start at the Panhellenic Exhibition of Lamia”
- Start time: 19:00.
- Traffic interruption from 18:00 – 22:00.
- Prohibition of vehicle stopping, parking, and traffic, as well as pedestrian movement (except for race and organization vehicles), on Filias Street, specifically from its junction with Agraphon Street to its junction with Taygetou Street, to facilitate the event.
- Friday (September 6, 2024) – Special Stage 1 & 4 “Ano Pavliani”
- Start of the 1st race car: 07:58.
- Traffic interruption from 05:00 – 17:10. Length: 22.47 km, double pass.
- Prohibition of vehicle stopping, parking, and traffic, as well as pedestrian movement (except for race and organization vehicles):
- On the dirt road connecting the village of Koumaritsi to the village of Pavliani via the locations “Rachi Kotopouli” and “Kotronakia,” ending at the New Pavliani – Lidoriki provincial road.
- On the provincial road from Dyo Vouna to Koumaritsi, from the junction with the road to Delfino, to the end of the village of Koumaritsi (Stage Start).
- On the municipal peripheral road of Ano Pavliani, from its junction with the main municipal road of Ano Pavliani to its junction with the Special Stage via the “Lakka Manolis” location (Escape Road).
- On the Pavliani – Lidoriki provincial road, in the direction of Pavliani, from the junction with the provincial road to Kaloskopi village to the stage finish, from 08:30 – 17:00.
- Friday (September 6, 2024) – Special Stage 2 & 5 “Dafni”
- Start of the 1st race car: 09:09.
- Traffic interruption from 06:00 – 18:20. Length: 21.67 km, double pass.
- Prohibition of vehicle stopping, parking, and traffic, as well as pedestrian movement (except for race and organization vehicles):
- On the dirt provincial road from Dafni to Marmara, from its junction with the Kastriotissa – Athanasios Diakos provincial road, passing through Dafni village, “Kato Kotroni” location, and the village of Anatoli.
- From the finish of the Pyrgos Stage to Marmara.
- Friday (September 6, 2024) – Special Stage 3 & 6 “Tarzan”
- Start of the 1st race car: 11:17.
- Traffic interruption from 08:15 – 14:00 (1st pass) and from 14:48 – 20:30 (2nd pass). Length: 23.37 km, double pass.
- Prohibition of vehicle stopping, parking, and traffic, as well as pedestrian movement (except for race and organization vehicles):
- Outside the Panhellenic Exhibition of Lamia, on Filias Street, specifically from its junction with Agraphon Street to its junction with Taygetou Street, from 06:00 to 23:00.
- From the finish of the Tarzan Stage to the Old Giannitsou football field.
- Part of the escape road of Rovoliari, from the junction with the Tarzan Stage to the parking area.
- Saturday (September 7, 2024) – Special Stage 7 “Regini”
- Start of the 1st race car: 08:16.
- Traffic interruption from 05:00 – 11:00. Length: 28.67 km, single pass.
- Prohibition of vehicle stopping, parking, and traffic, as well as pedestrian movement (except for race and vehicles)
Outside the Panhellenic Exhibition of Lamia, on Filias Street, specifically from its junction with Agraphon Street to its junction with Taygetou Street, between 06:00 and 10:00.
- On the dirt road after the village of Regini, up to the start of the Special Stage.
- On the dirt road from the end of the Special Stage to the Elateia-Livadia provincial road.
- Sunday (September 8, 2024) – Special Stage 14-15 “Eleftherochori”
- Start of the 1st race car: 10:05.
- Traffic interruption from 07:00 – 16:00. Length: 18.29 km, double pass.
- Prohibition of vehicle stopping, parking, and traffic, as well as pedestrian movement (except for race and organization vehicles):
- On the dirt road connecting the village of Eleftherochori with the village of Mendenitsa through the “Lakes” location, from the end of Eleftherochori village to just before Mendenitsa village.
- On the provincial road connecting Eleftherochori village with the Thermopylae-Itea National Road (Km marker 13.000), along its entire length.
- On the dirt road from Mendenitsa village, through the route leading to the Mendenitsa Cemetery, heading towards the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity.
2. Evrytania: Temporary traffic interruption from 08:00 to 20:30 on Friday (September 6, 2024):
- At intervals and according to the directions of traffic officers, on the Karpenisi-Fournas-Karditsa provincial road, from the 37th km marker (Fournas junction) to the 46th km marker.
- Continuously during the aforementioned period, from the 47th km marker to the 48th km marker of the above provincial road (location “Zacharaki” – the start of the special stage).
- During these traffic regulations, vehicle traffic to and from Karditsa will be conducted via the bypass routes:
- a) Karpenisi-Fournas-Klisto-Neraida, and
- b) National Road Lamia-Karpenisi and Provincial Road Makrakomi-Xyniada Fthiotida.
3. Viotia (Special Stage 8 “Thiva”): From 07:30 to 13:30 on Saturday (September 7, 2024), prohibition of vehicle traffic and parking, as well as pedestrian movement from the junction of an unnamed dirt road with the Thiva-Asopia provincial road (500m) after the exit of the Neochoraki village, left 40m from the asphalt on the uphill dirt road to the left (start), to an unnamed forest road near the Neochoraki Traffic Park (finish).
4. Phocis (Special Stage 13 “Oinochori”): From 06:00 to 11:45 on Sunday (September 8, 2024), prohibition of vehicle traffic and parking, as well as pedestrian movement from a point about 200m before the junction with a dirt road with a sign ‘TO PANAGIA’ on the Oinochori-Sklithro provincial road and until Sklithro (road closure length approximately 2.5 km).
- The race cars will move along the Thermopylae-Amfissa National Road, heading from Lamia to Amfissa. At the 26th km marker of the Thermopylae-Amfissa National Road, at the junction with Kastelia, they turn right towards Kastelia. They then follow the route towards Oinochori, turning left at the junction towards Oinochori.
- The start is at the beginning of the dirt road that leads to the area’s mines. Immediately after the start, the race cars turn right onto the uphill dirt road and follow the route for 17.47 km, reaching the asphalt road after 9.50 km, which leads right towards Sklithro and left towards Oinochori. They turn left and after 200m re-enter the dirt road on the right, where they drive another 8 km towards Pavliani.
- The finish is located 300m before the asphalt road that leads right towards Pavliani.
- Vehicle movement from Lamia to Oinochori will only be conducted via the Thermopylae-Amfissa National Road, as access to Oinochori (via Sklithro) through the Oinochori-Sklithro provincial road will not be possible.
B. In regions of Attica
1. Athens-Lamia National Road Service Lane:
- Complete traffic interruption of vehicles on the left service lane of the Athens-Lamia National Road (on the side towards Athens), from Km marker 45.800 to Km marker 48.400, in the direction of Athens, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 16:00 to 02:00 on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
- During the above traffic interruption, vehicles traveling in both directions on the left service lane of the Athens-Lamia National Road will be diverted via the unnamed underground road of the Athens-Lamia National Road and will move to the right service lane of the Athens-Lamia National Road (on the side towards Lamia) in both directions.
- Main Roadway of Athens-Lamia National Highway (N.E.O. Athens-Lamia):
- Phase 1 (From 08:00 AM on Friday, 06-09-2024):
- Traffic will be stopped in the left lane of the roadway heading towards Lamia, from kilometer marker (km) 44.650 to km 48.800.
- Traffic will be stopped in the left lane of the roadway heading towards Athens, from km 50.350 to km 45.600.
- During Phase 1, works will be conducted on the central median (visual barriers, removal of metal safety barriers, etc.). Traffic will flow through the right and middle lanes in each direction.
- Phase 2 (From 07:00 AM on Saturday, 07-09-2024):
- Traffic will be stopped in the middle lane of the roadway heading towards Lamia, from km 44.650 to km 48.800.
- Traffic will be stopped in the middle lane of the roadway heading towards Athens, from km 50.350 to km 45.600.
- During Phase 2, metal safety barriers for Emergency Openings (A.E.A.) will be removed at km 45.800 and km 48.650. Traffic will proceed through the right lane in each direction.
- Phase 3 (Gradually from 12:00 PM on Saturday, 07-09-2024):
- Traffic heading towards Athens on the N.E.O.A.L. will be diverted through the Emergency Opening (A.E.A.) in the central median at km 48.650 into the opposite direction (left lane of the roadway heading towards Lamia). Traffic will rejoin the Athens-bound lane at km 45.800 (via the A.E.A. in the central median).
- The entry lane towards the Malakasa Service Area (S.E.A. Malakasa) (in the direction towards Lamia) will be closed.
- Traffic will be stopped on the Emergency Lane (L.E.A.) from km 48.950 to km 48.760, on the roadway heading towards Athens.
- Vehicle traffic will proceed through the right lane of the roadway towards Lamia, heading towards Lamia, and through the left lane of the roadway towards Lamia (with opposite direction), heading towards Athens.
- Phase 4 (From 12:00 AM on Sunday, 07-09-2024):
- Alternate sequential closures will occur in the Emergency Lane (L.E.A.) and the left lane along the length of the worksite warning signs and at locations where sufficient visibility is ensured, so that signs and other obstacles can be removed from the roadway.
- It is estimated that full traffic restoration and the end of the above traffic arrangements will be completed by the morning hours of Sunday, 08-09-2024.
- Spectators’ access to the Malakasa Service Area (S.E.A. Malakasa) will be via the right service road of the N.E.O. Athens-Lamia (on the side of the roadway heading towards Lamia), where, following the instructions of the Attica Traffic Police, they will park in specially designated areas near the S.E.A. Malakasa.
C. In the areas of Corinthia:
- From 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM on Saturday (07-09-2024), in the area of Agioi Theodoroi:
- Parking will be prohibited from the junction of P.E.O.A.K. and Prathio roads, to the junction of the roads parallel to N.E.O.A.K. and Agia Marina [in case of congestion due to parked vehicles, traffic will be stopped from the junction of the parallel road of N.E.O.A.K. and Agia Marina to the 8th km of Agia Marina Road (Arambatzi location)].
- Parking and vehicle traffic will be prohibited on the former German Road, i.e., from the “House of Arambatzi” to the 8th km of Agia Marina Road (Arambatzi location).
- From 09:00 AM to 07:45 PM on Saturday (07-09-2024), in the Loutraki area:
- Vehicle traffic and parking will be prohibited in both directions on the unnamed road from the end of the special stage “Agioi Theodoroi” to the river at 28th October Street.
- Parking will be prohibited from the river on 28th October Street to the junction with the Loutraki Ring Road in the direction from Charvati to Loutraki.
- Vehicle traffic and parking will be prohibited in both directions from the junction of 28th October Street and K. Kavafis Street to the river on K. Kavafis Street.
- Vehicle traffic and parking will be prohibited in both directions from the end of the “Loutraki” special stage to its junction with 28th October Street.
- Vehicle traffic will be prohibited in both directions on Androutsou Street (which then becomes Ionia Street) from the height of Matsi to Karantani (Public Employees).
- Vehicle traffic and parking will be prohibited in both directions on Constantinople Street from Karantani (Public Employees) to the Municipal parking lot.
- Vehicle traffic and parking will be prohibited in the Municipal parking lot (next to the 2nd Loutraki Primary School).
- Parking will be prohibited in both directions on Karantani Street (Public Employees) from Athens Avenue to the Loutraki Ring Road.
- Parking will be prohibited in both directions along the exit route from Nea Politia (on paved roadway) to the “IVI” factory, on Public Employees Street.
- Vehicle traffic and parking will be prohibited on the unnamed road from the height of the Loutraki-Schinou provincial road to the start of the special stage (Platanos Tavern).
- Vehicle traffic and parking will be prohibited on the unnamed road from the height of the Pisia church to the height of the unnamed road leading to the start of the special stage (Platanos Tavern).
It is noted that during the aforementioned time period, vehicle traffic is prohibited on all forest and dirt roads at points where they intersect with the Special Stages.
