Weather: Μore bad weather in the new week – Two autumn systems coming after the weekend

It’s increasingly autumnal weather these days, with forecasters calling for “more organised bad weather” in the new week.

According to Thodoros Kolydas, the first autumn system will affect us Monday to Tuesday and the second Friday to Saturday next week. Also, more organized bad weather is expected in the new week, as Clearchos Marousakis points out. In fact, from Monday, according to the EMF, the temperature will be near normal for the season in most areas, reaching 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, 28 to 31 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in the island country.

A “P-type” circulation is developing that will affect the western, central, northern and eastern Aegean Sea at times. Typical autumn weather , but the weather situation will not “touch” the rest of the country.

Saturday 7/9

In Macedonia, Thrace and gradually in Thessaly, clouds with local rain and mainly in the midday and afternoon hours sporadic thunderstorms are forecast. In the rest of the country, generally clear weather with local clouds in the mainland in the midday and afternoon hours, when there will be local rain and possibly in the mountains isolated thunderstorms. In the morning hours visibility in the west will be locally limited. Winds in the east and south will blow from northerly directions 3 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea locally 6 Beaufort. In the remaining areas it will be variable 3 to 4 Beaufort, but gradually in the Ionian Sea north-northwest winds up to 5 Beaufort will prevail. The temperature will drop slightly mainly in the north and will reach 29 to 31 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, the Ionian Islands and the Cyclades, and 32 to 34 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country.

In the remaining areas, generally clear weather is forecast with local clouds on the mainland (except Thrace) in the midday and afternoon hours, when there will be rain and isolated thunderstorms in the mountains. In the morning hours visibility in the west will be locally limited. Winds will blow in the east from northerly directions 3 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea locally 6 Beaufort. In the west the winds will be variable 3 to 4 Beaufort and from late in the evening south winds 4 to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will drop slightly mainly in the north and east. It will reach 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, 31 to 33 degrees Celsius in the west, 29 to 31 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese and 28 to 29 degrees Celsius in the rest of the island country. In southern Crete it will locally reach 31 to 33 degrees Celsius.

Monday 9/9

Fair clouds which will gradually become thicker in the Ionian and the mainland and local rain and occasional thunderstorms will occur, initially in the Ionian and the western mainland, where it is likely to be occasionally heavy from the afternoon and from the afternoon hours in some places in the rest of the mainland. In the rest of the country, the weather will initially be generally clear, but clouds will gradually develop. Winds will blow in the Ionian and the mainland from southerly directions 3 to 5 and occasionally in the Ionian Sea 6 Beaufort and in the Aegean Sea from northerly directions 4 to 5 and in the morning hours up to 6 Beaufort. The temperature will be close to normal for the season in most areas. It will reach 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, 28 to 31 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and 28 to 30 degrees Celsius on the islands.

Wednesday 11/9

Cloudy weather with showers and occasional thunderstorms are forecast in the east and south of the country, possibly strong in places, the weather will quickly improve. In the rest of the regions a few clouds are forecasted, which will increase in the continental areas in the midday and afternoon hours and from the evening in the Ionian Sea and local rain is possible. Winds will blow in the west and north northwest 3 to 5 Beaufort, becoming south-southwest from the evening in the west with the same intensity. In the east and south the winds will blow south southwest at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will not change significantly.
