The traces of a 34-year-old Greek and a 30-year-old foreigner who were systematically engaged in the trafficking of “hard” drugs in the wider area of Mytilene, led the police officers of the Narcotics Department to the evidence collected in the preliminary investigation.
The suspects were spotted when they met on a road outside the town to do alisvirisi, were subjected to a check and found to be in possession of a package of heroin weighing 22.8 grams. Following their arrest, a search of a sheepfold owned by the 34-year-old in the same area followed, in which three more packets of heroin weighing 395 grams were found, which they intended to sell to users on the island, as well as an electronic scale.
The findings were seized, as well as 100 euros and two mobile phones in the possession of the perpetrators, against whom a case was filed for possession and concealment of drugs with the purpose of trafficking and they were referred to the Mytilene Prosecutor’s Office.
They have been charged and sent to the Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova.
