Serious problems were caused by the bad weather Atena that hit Chios from 2:00 am and for two hours with heavy rain and strong winds.

Houses and shops in the town of Chios were flooded, as well as the hall of the airport, while great damage was also caused to the mastic cultivation.

Damage still occurred at the customs office, where the wind blew away the shading facilities.

According to the Fire Service, 45 calls for water pumping were made on the island of Chios, of which actions were carried out in 25 cases.
