The Hollywood actress lost her mother on the day she was scheduled to appear at the 81st Venice Film Festival to receive the Best Actress award for her role in the film “Babygirl.”
However, she did not attend the ceremony, and a message from the 57-year-old actress was read on stage.
“I learned shortly after arriving in Venice about the death of my mother, Janelle Kidman. I am in shock and need to be with my family. This award is for her,” she stated.
A few days later, Nicole Kidman made a post on her personal Instagram account regarding her loss.
Specifically, she shared a black-and-white family photo and wrote in the caption: “My sister and I, along with our family, want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week.”
She continued: “Every message we received from those who loved and admired our mother meant more to us than we can ever express. Thank you from all of us for respecting our privacy as we take care of one another.”
