The Prime Minister referred to measures such as the interconnection of cash registers with POS, the myDATA electronic transaction recording system, and the promotion of electronic transactions, which contribute both to the fight against tax evasion and the strengthening of the economy. According to the report, for 2022 alone, these reforms led to an additional gain for the public sector of €3 billion.

Mitsotakis underlined that this battle for tax fairness is also a battle for social justice, as the resources saved are directed to vital sectors such as Health, Education, Security and National Defence. With these measures, the government seeks to improve the quality of life of citizens by upgrading the services offered and ensuring better financial management.

“Life vindicates initiatives that lead to a better life,” the Prime Minister concluded his post, assuring that the government will continue to persevere in the fight for a fairer and sustainable economy.
