Members of the New Democracy parliamentary group were briefed on Thursday afternoon by Health Minister Adonis Georgiades on issues within his remit.

The closed session is part of the regular briefings that the members of the government have started to the “blue” MPs to better coordinate the legislative work.

About 50 MPs were present at the start of the session held in the Senate chamber of the Parliament.

Surprising Turn of Events with Gerovassili

According to reports, just as Mr Georgiades was starting his introductory statement, SYRIZA MP Olga Gerovassili entered the room, thinking that the Defence and Foreign Affairs Committee was meeting.

The Health Minister said “welcome” to her with the “blue” MPs applauding her.

It should be noted that the debate is taking place just hours after 8 ND MPs tabled a question to the Health and Labour ministers on extending the exemption from pharmaceutical expenses to other categories of low-pensioners.
