Greece National Team: Ioannidis Stays Close Despite Injury – Photo

Even Off the Field, the National Team Operates Like a Family

Newsroom October 8 03:55

Only two days remain until Greece’s crucial match against England in the third round of the UEFA Nations League. The players gathered yesterday for their first training session at the “Mazarakio” stadium.

Foti Ioannidis is the only player absent from our national squad due to an injury sustained during the intense derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos last Sunday. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old striker made an effort to be with his teammates, joining them for a brief moment at their last meal before departure.

This gesture highlights the positive atmosphere within the team and how closely bonded the players are with one another. The national team shared this heartwarming moment on their social media account.

The national team’s post read:

“Foti’s visit, despite his injury, was not just a supportive gesture toward his teammates but a testament to the deep unity that characterizes the team. His presence at the table proved that even off the field, the national team operates like a family, where everyone supports each other at every step, whether it’s during a match or through challenging times.”
