A pair of 53-year-old Greeks who were trafficking significant quantities of “hard” drugs in areas of Macedonia had been targeted by Serres Narcotics Police and the information was confirmed when they were found in an area of the municipality of Thessaloniki.
Police raided the couple’s residence on Monday, where they seized 30 packets of heroin weighing a total of 347.13 grams, a vial of liquid methadone weighing 52 grams, four drug pills and extracts from two others and three electronic scales.
The sale of the illegal goods appears to have been particularly lucrative for the offenders, as cash amounting to €2,380 was found in the house and a further €395 was found in the man’s possession. The couple was taken to the prosecutor of the Thessaloniki Prosecutor’s Office with the case file formed against them for drug trafficking.
They were selling cocaine in their shop
A 32-year-old man was caught red-handed by the police officers of the O.P.C.E., just after leaving the business of a 45-year-old man in Lamia, having bought a package of cocaine weighing 4.3 grams from the owner and a 51-year-old partner. A search of the business followed where another small quantity of cocaine weighing 0.6 grams, a precision scale and €250 were seized.
The buyer and sellers were taken to the Lamia Prosecutor’s Office with charges of buying and trafficking drugs and the 45-year-old and 51-year-old were referred to the investigating judge to apologize on Thursday, while a regular trial date was set for the 32-year-old and he was released.
