The case against Polakis was formed after Adonis Georgiades filed a lawsuit for slander

The lifting of the parliamentary immunity of Pavlos Polakis is recommended by the Ethics Committee of the House of Representatives. The decision was taken by a majority with ND and Eleftherias voting in favor of the prosecutor’s request, PASOK and SYRIZA declaring “present” while KKE and Nea Aristera voted against.

SYRIZA’s representative on the Ethics Committee George Gavrilos claimed that the “present” vote had been pre-agreed with Polakis.

The case against Polakis was formed after a complaint by Adonis Georgiades for slander. According to the file, the complaint and lawsuit concerns a post by the MP and SYRIZA presidential candidate claiming that the Health Minister was bribed.
