Metron Analysis , which gives PASOK a 19.8% vote estimate, recorded PASOK’s surge after the internal party ballot and the re-election of Androulakis in the poll presented on the main Mega newscast. The PASOK president ranks first in popularity among political leaders after almost two years, but shows only a marginal rise in suitability for prime minister – a field in which Kyriakos Mitsotakis absolutely dominates with 29%, compared to just 6% for Kyriakos Velopoulos and Nikos Androulakis.
ND still has a significant – but single-digit – lead of 9.3 points in the vote estimate: it is recorded at 29.1%, with PASOK at 19.8% ( higher than the 17% recorded in December 2021, after the first election of Androulakis) and third is the Hellenic Solution, which however shows a drop of almost two points, from 10.9% in the September count to 9% in this poll.
The number of votes was down from 10.2 percent in the previous year, down from 10.2 percent in the previous year’s polls, but it is now down from 10.2 percent in the current poll.
It is interesting to note that all parties to the right of the New Democracy party are recording losses. Apart from the Velopoulos party, the Voice of Logic of Aphrodite Latinoopoulou also recorded a decline – to 4.5% from 5.4% a month ago, but also Niki, with 2.4%, which would leave it out of parliament if there were elections, while in September it was recorded at 4.4%. It’s a trend that is in line with the poll’s finding showing a decline in concern over Greek-Turkish relations, as those who think there will be an improvement in relations between the two countries rose four points in a month – from 27% to 31%.
At the same time, SYRIZA’s polling slide continues, as it loses almost a point and is fifth in the polls, with 8.7% of the vote, marginally behind the Velopoulos party and the KKE. Note that in the popularity ratings, Stefanos Kasselakis shows a marginal rise – from 17% to 18% and is low, surpassed only by Dimitris Natsios and Vassilis Stigas, but remains much higher than SYRIZA’s ratings.
The Metron poll gives a 4% vote estimate to the New Left – presumably as a result of what is happening within Syriza.
