In critical yet stable condition, the 16-year-old student from the 6th Vocational High School of Patras, diagnosed with meningitis, remains under intensive care at Agios Andreas Hospital.
According to gnomip.gr, Deputy Regional Health Director Anna Mastorakou stated, “The girl is fighting for her life, and all ICU doctors are doing their utmost to support her recovery.”
Local reports indicate that Ms. Mastorakou, along with Secondary Education Director Eugenia Pierri and Regional Public Health Director for Achaia Katerina Simeonidou, visited the school to explain to students what to do if they suspect symptoms of meningitis.
“It’s something I believe will be difficult to spread, as all necessary actions were quickly taken, with health officials identifying close contacts and promptly disinfecting the area to prevent further contamination,” Ms. Mastorakou emphasized.
