Tourist arrivals at the island’s airport in October saw a 19% increase, while overall traffic for the past seven months also reached high levels, recording a 14% rise.
The data was announced by the Governor of the South Aegean Region, George Hatzimarkos, on social media, where he stated, among other things: “Rhodes’ outstanding tourism performance keeps the entire South Aegean region strong. In October ’24, Rhodes recorded a 19% increase compared to October ’23. This +19% is rare for established tourist destinations and speaks volumes — positively and optimistically, allowing for creative growth.”
“From April to October ’24, Rhodes surpassed the 3 million mark for international air passengers, achieving a 14% increase over its previous record for the same period. The tourism season is still ongoing, and every extra day we gain in November represents a step forward in our efforts to extend the season,” Hatzimarkos added.
