Vladimir Putin says he is ready to talk to Donald Trump, while at the same time congratulating him on his victory.
He described Trump as a “brave man” and said any idea that facilitates ending the crisis in Ukraine deserves attention.
Trump has previously threatened to cut aid to Ukraine – a vital source of support under Biden for its defense against Russian invasion.
US arms and donations far outstrip any other ally.
Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi, Putin also said he was impressed by Trump’s behavior when he survived an assassination attempt at a rally in July.
