Newsroom November 12 07:07

Intense checks on central streets of Athens, taxi stands, Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, and central bus stations of Attica were carried out by special teams of the ADE in the last 48 hours in order to verify whether taxi drivers have complied with their obligation to have the special sticker installed on the right rear window of their vehicle.

This sticker informs customers that taxis are also obliged to accept payments through the use of POS.

From the checks carried out and from the lists sent by the local unions, it is estimated that nationwide about 50% of taxi drivers have complied with this obligation. The checks are to continue in the coming days both in Attica and in the rest of the country.

So far, those drivers found without an installed sticker have received recommendations and their details have been recorded, while fines are to be activated from the end of the week for those found not to have complied with the provision of the law.
