The Russian intercontinental missile reportedly launched towards the Ukrainian city of Dnipro today was an RS-26 Rubezh, according to the Ukrainian outlet Ukrainska Pravda, citing anonymous sources. The missile has an operational range of 5,800 kilometers, as detailed by the Arms Control Association.

Earlier in the day, Ukraine’s Air Force announced that Russia had launched an intercontinental ballistic missile towards Dnipro but did not specify the missile type.

Russian Defense Ministry Reports Interceptions

Simultaneously, Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that its air defense systems intercepted two British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles fired by Ukraine. The ministry also reported shooting down six U.S.-manufactured HIMARS rockets and 67 drones targeting Russian territory. However, it did not disclose the timing or specific locations of these interceptions.
