A serious workplace accident occurred recently in the “Theseus” settlement of Malevizi Municipality, Crete.
According to initial reports, two foreign workers, aged 25 and 23, fell from a height of approximately 15 meters into a ravine while working on the construction of a luxury residence. The incident happened as they were carrying heavy objects.
Reports from Cretalive indicate that both workers sustained orthopedic injuries to their arms and legs. They were transported to the University General Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) by EKAV ambulances. The Fire Department was also called to assist.
Stelios Vorgias, President of the Heraklion Workers’ Center, stated to Cretalive that the circumstances of the incident are under investigation, emphasizing the dire working conditions.
