Barry Keoghan will play Ringo Starr in four upcoming biographical films about the Beatles, directed by Sam Mendes, as revealed by the drummer of the “Fab Four” himsel
During a recent interview with ET, Ringo Starr commented on the actor’s selection, saying: “I think it’s great. I believe he’s taking drumming lessons somewhere—hopefully not too many.”
However, according to Variety, no official deal has been finalized for the upcoming Beatles biopics. The films are being developed with full approval and licensing of the band’s music rights. Other actors linked to the project include Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn, and Paul Mescal.
Produced by Sony Pictures, the four distinct films will “tell interconnected stories, each from the perspective of a different member of the band.”
Keoghan recently appeared in Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air series and delivered a memorable performance in last year’s Saltburn. He is set to star next in Netflix’s Peaky Blinders movie alongside Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson.
Meanwhile, Ringo Starr is returning to country music with a new album titled Look Up, produced and co-created by T Bone Burnett.
