One of the most recognizable faces of the Hamas attack in southern Israel that left more than 1,000 dead, Mia Shem, who was held hostage by the terrorists, is getting married.
After her ordeal, her childhood friend, 24-year-old Yinon Hasson sought her out to support her.
Their friendship turned into a relationship that would lead to marriage, as Shem’s post on social media shows.
French-Israeli Shem was at the Nova festival, held in the desert near the border with the Gaza Strip. Hundreds of young people were killed or kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. Among those kidnapped was Shem.
The 21-year-old girl, who was injured in the arm and had surgery at a hospital in the Gaza Strip while being held hostage, appeared in a propaganda video by Hamas.
“Right now I am in Gaza,” he was heard saying. She was talking about the medical treatment she was receiving there while appealing to the Israeli government to return home. “Please get us out of here as soon as possible,” she was saying.
Until the video emerged, her relatives believed she was dead.
Finally, after 55 days of being held hostage, Mia Shem αφέθηκε released.
She spoke many times about the nightmarish moments she experienced, the sexual harassment she received from her captors, her broken arm, and the fact that for many days she was kept locked in a cage. As she said, the fact that she was living with her jailer’s family prevented her from being raped.
