Neighbors shocked by 39-year-old who killed his wife in Ampelokipoi: “They were a loving family”

Described as a couple that appeared close-knit and never exhibited inappropriate behavior

Newsroom December 6 01:50

One day after the brutal murder of a 32-year-old mother in Ampelokipoi by her husband, their neighbors remain in shock, describing a couple that seemed loving and never crossed any lines with their behavior.

Relatives of both the victim and the perpetrator held a similar view, expressing their disbelief and shock upon learning of the tragic events that unfolded in the ground-floor apartment on Laconia Street.

“They weren’t the kind of people who went out much. She was a fine woman, hardworking, dedicated to her children. She only went between home and work. Whenever I saw her, she never mentioned any problems with her husband. Maybe they had issues, but what couple doesn’t? They weren’t on the brink of separation or anything like that. He seemed like a good man, but what went on inside their home, no one can truly know,” said a relative of the perpetrator who had developed a friendly relationship with the murdered mother, speaking to protothema.gr.

Video with statements from a relative of the perpetrator in Ampelokipoi:

A local resident in the area where the brutal murder took place described both the victim and the perpetrator as family-oriented people who never caused trouble with their behavior.

“They lived here in the neighborhood and never gave anyone reason to complain. They were a normal, loving family.

The father wasn’t the kind of person you’d ever see act out. All the years I’ve had my shop here, I never saw them misbehave.

Nor did the woman ever give anyone a reason to bother her. They were a truly loving couple,” the resident recounted.
