Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres discussed the transitional period in Syria following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad‘s regime by rebels and the potential steps for the country’s reconstruction, a source from the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated.

Fidan and Guterres also discussed access to humanitarian aid in Syria, the source added.

The two exchanged views on what the UN could do to assist in the reconstruction of Syria, the source concluded.
