The horrific revelations of the tortures that a 16-year-old was subjected to by six Egyptians in the illegal immigrants’ center of Malakasa have shaken the country.

Officers from the Oropou Security Department arrested four people yesterday and two more were wanted, whom authorities handcuffed today. They are a 25-year-old and a 22-year-old from Egypt. A case has been filed against the arrested men for rape, pornography, illegal violence, illegal detention and dangerous bodily harm.

The 16-year-old’s ordeal began at 3.00am on Monday (9/12) when the six Egyptians approached the child and subjected him to unspeakable torture and ended at around 08:00am. Which means he was tortured for at least five hours.

According to reports, the Egyptians reportedly burned the minor on various parts of his body with a red-hot spoon, whipped him and then allegedly molested him. The perpetrators even recorded their heinous acts with a cell phone throughout the attack.

The torture allegedly started because the Egyptians believed the 16-year-old stole a cell phone from them, something that has not been confirmed.

The video of the tortures on the 16-year-old was aired on STAR channel and showed the 16-year-old being restrained by two young men who tied and gagged him.

Lwai, who resides in Malakassa, said “five adults abducted the 16-year-old, removed his clothes, tied him up with refrigerator cables and almost raped him. They injured him all over his body, tried to injure his genitals. The child was in a bad condition.”
