A psychiatric expert examination will be conducted on the 35-year-old police officer’s wife, most likely tomorrow (Dec. 13), according to the report.

The psychiatric expert opinion has been requested by the prosecution after the unimaginable evidence of indecent assault against the 35-year-old woman and her underage children by the House police officer and her husband.

The 35-year-old woman’s lawyer Yannis Barkagiannis has requested that a technical adviser be present on their side. At the same time, it will also be investigated whether the 35-year-old suffers from Stockholm syndrome.

“I am mentally unstable, it is a result of chronic abuse,” said the 35-year-old police officer’s wife, speaking on yesterday’s Star news programme, said she didn’t care about her punishment as long as her children were spared the nightmare.

“Whenever I am asked to be examined by a specialist, I am at his disposal. I have never hidden the fact that I am mentally unstable, I have not hidden my hospitalization, which was however a result of the chronic abuse I suffered at the hands of my husband. And going to jail or dying is not my concern. The children are fine even now,” the 35-year-old policewoman said.

“We could hear a baby crying like it was being tortured” said a neighbour of the police officer’s family who was serving in Parliament also spoke about the case. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, told the ANT1 morning show that she lives close enough to the couple’s home to hear things that were going on. “It was only yesterday that I heard about the incident that was happening and I was in shock,” he said. He claimed to have heard voices but had been unable to locate their origin. “I had heard a man swearing at a woman. I could hear a baby crying. It was not a common cry. It was like it was being tortured. I had gone outside and was looking to see where it was coming from,” he told the reporter on ANT1.

When asked why she didn’t act, she said she wasn’t sure and feared the police wouldn’t take her complaint seriously.
