A helicopter of Navy, type S70B Aegean Hawk, at the request of the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (ESRC), carried out in the evening hours yesterday, Monday 30 December, air evacuation of a crew member in need of hospital care, from the Russian-flagged cargo ship M/V ENISEY, which was sailing 25 nautical miles west of Kythera.

The patient was transferred to Kalamata airport where he was taken by an ambulance of the EKAB, according to a statement from the Navy General Staff.
