Employees of the municipality of Thessaloniki have seen images of devastation where unknown people vandalized the toilets at the Garden of Seasons, in Nea Paralia. The city filed a petition a petition.
Unidentified people caused destruction in the restrooms by breaking mirrors and sinks. “The images of total destruction leading to the suspension of the facility are offensive and infuriating, all the more so when this is not the first such incident,” the city said in a statement.
Also, a lawsuit was immediately filed by the relevant Municipal Police Department against unknown persons for what took place.
The entire announcement of the Municipality of Thessaloniki:
“Images of destruction were seen by Thessaloniki municipality workers in the toilets at the Garden of Seasons in the new Paralia. Specifically, as the municipality announced in a statement, unknown persons decided to vandalize the toilets, destroying everything inside. The competent Directorate of Municipal Police immediately filed a complaint against unknown persons for what took place, while the municipality of Thessaloniki stresses that the tolerance for those who destroy municipal property is zero.
From the very first moment, the new municipal authority made concerted efforts so that after many years the public toilets in the centre of Thessaloniki and in the upper city could function.
It became possible, in just a few months, to have a contractor for the re-delivery of ten public toilets to the citizens and to provide a solution to a problem that was offending our daily culture and the image of our city to the outside world.
Unfortunately, some among us, deniers of normality, decided to vandalize the toilets in the Garden of Seasons on the new Beach, destroying what was inside. The images of destruction leading to the suspension of the venue are offensive and infuriating, all the more so when this is not the first such incident.
A lawsuit was immediately filed by the relevant Municipal Police Department against unknown persons for what took place. At the same time, it must be made clear to the same or would-be imitators that there is zero tolerance for those who destroy municipal property. Accountability to justice is a one-way street.”
