Defense Minister Nikos Dendias asked French Ambassador Laurence Auer for an explanation on the impending sale of METEOR missiles to Türkiye. Dendias expressed to the ambassador Greece’s strong opposition to such a possibility.
In particular, Dendias made known:
Following the relevant briefing of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis, I met today at the Ministry of National Defence with the Ambassador of France, Ms. Laurence Auer, from whom I requested an official briefing on the information about the sale of METEOR missiles to Türkiye by a consortium in which France participates.
I expressed to the French Ambassador the strong opposition of Greece to such a possibility, which is not in line with the excellent strategic relations between the two countries.
