An earthquake of 4.2 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred on Thursday afternoon in Evia and was strongly felt in Attica.
According to the automatic solution of the Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter was located 2 kilometers north of Aliveri, with a focal depth of 5 kilometers.
The seismic tremor lasted for a while; however, there have been no reports of material damages so far.
“It is a weak tremor, and it is still too early to say whether we should be concerned. The initial estimate is that it occurred in Aliveri with a magnitude of 4.2, but we need to wait for the accurate magnitude and depth to be determined,” explained Dr. Athanasios Ganas, director of research at the Geodynamic Institute, earlier to protothema.gr.
