There is increased traffic at the port of Santorini, as many residents decide to temporarily leave the island due to the ongoing seismic activity. Departures are taking place by every available means, either by ferry or by air, with both ships and flights showing full capacity.

The activity at the port is intense, with queues forming at the ticket counters, while passengers are patiently waiting to board ships departing with increased capacity towards Piraeus, Crete, and the Cyclades. “We decided to leave for a few days until the situation calms down,” said a local resident, emphasizing how the uncertainty regarding the seismic developments is affecting their daily lives.

Residents of the island are leaving Santorini amid landslides.

Ferry routes are operating normally, with demand being high. Meanwhile, flights from Santorini to Athens are nearly full. To help normalize the situation and serve the residents, three additional flights from Santorini to Athens have been added today to accommodate the increased demand.

The local authorities are in constant communication with experts, while seismologists are closely monitoring the activity in the area.
