The weather will deteriorate from today, Monday (03-02-2025) from the west to the east with heavy showers and thunderstorms in some places.

From Tuesday (04-02-2025) gusty winds will prevail in the east and the temperature will show a noticeable drop during the next three days.

In more detail:

1. Locally heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast:

a. Today Monday (03-02-2025) until the afternoon in the Ionian Sea (mainly Kefalonia – Zakynthos area) and the western Peloponnese

β. From late afternoon Monday (03-02-2025) until Tuesday morning (04-02-2025) in eastern Sterea (including Attica), Evia, eastern Thessaly and the Sporades.

c. From the early morning hours of Tuesday (04-02-2025) in the Cyclades, and the islands of the Eastern Aegean.

2. Locally gusty eastern northeastern winds are forecast on Tuesday (04-02-2025) from early in the morning and until the afternoon in Thrace, the northeastern Aegean islands, the Sporades and occasionally in eastern Thessaly and Evia.

From Wednesday to Friday, gusty northerly northeasterly winds will continue in the Aegean Sea.

3. The temperature on Tuesday (04-02-2025) will drop from the north in the range of 6 to 7 degrees Celsius and on Wednesday (05-02-2025) will drop further across the country.

With this title, meteorologists refer to the forecast of the weather for the next few days, saying that cold weather with rain is coming but the chance of snowfall is low and the only snow is expected to fall in the mountains of the Aegean islands.

The weather today

Showers and local thunderstorms are forecast today in several areas, with heavy showers likely in the west by the afternoon, and from the afternoon in the eastern mainland. Showers will continue in the eastern parts of the country on Tuesday.The temperature, although it will drop slightly, will still be higher than normal in the north up to 14 degrees in other areas 15 to 19 degrees.

In Thessaloniki also rainy weather today, up to 14 degrees, from tomorrow the temperature will not exceed 8 to 9 degrees.

Local showers and thunderstorms mainly in the Ionian Sea, Epirus, Thessaly (west and south), Central Greece (including Attica), the Peloponnese, the Cyclades and the eastern Aegean.

At night on Tuesday, transient snowfall in the mountains and highlands of central-eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

Increased northerly northeasterly winds and a noticeable drop in temperature. Local showers and snowfall (mountainous – semi-mountainous areas) in central Macedonia, Thessaly, E. Sterea-Euboea, E-NE Peloponnese, Cyclades, E-SE Aegean, Crete and Dodecanese.

The weather on Wednesday (5/2)

North winds and cold. No notable showers are forecast.

The director of EMY, Thodoris Kolydas, in a post on social media about this sudden change in the weather, refers to the areas that, especially from Monday, should pay special attention.

“Beware of heavy rainfall in Attikovoitia from late afternoon, in Argolida, and gradually in Evia and on Tuesday in Sporades, Thessaly and Eastern Aegean,” he says in his post, while among other things he stresses that from Tuesday, the temperature will drop significantly.
