Crime in Pieria: “She definitely had an accomplice from the start,” says father of the 58-Year-Old victim

Every day when I came here he would say "where is Kostas" and would cry, he said

Newsroom February 7 04:23

The father of 58-year-old Kostas Siamitras expressed certainty that the 34-year-old confessed killer of his son did not act alone, though he admitted he was unaware of the crime’s motive.

“I came here every day, and everything seemed fine. I don’t know why this happened or how it reached this point. From the very beginning, I’ve been saying she did it. She definitely had accomplices—one, two? Security will find out,” he stated.

He also recalled the suspect’s behavior after the crime: “Every day, she would ask, ‘Where is Kostas?’ and pretend to cry. But she was not a woman mourning the loss of her husband.”

Watch his full statement in the video below:

It will be recalled that the 34-year-old woman was brought before the prosecutor at noon on Friday, where she was prosecuted for manslaughter with intent. The 34-year-old woman tried to hide from the cameras while being taken to the prosecutor’s office and was silent to reporters who approached her.

They found the 58-year-old’s remains buried in the yard – The Chronicle

The woman confessed, the previous 24 hours, to officers of the Katerini Crime Investigation and Detection Sub-Division that during an argument she pushed the 58-year-old man away, causing him to lose his balance, fall to the floor, and hit his head. He then reportedly carried the man’s lifeless body to the yard of their home where he buried it.

In a subsequent investigation at the place he indicated as the place of burial of the body, police officers found – at a depth of about half a meter – human bones which were recovered and sent to the Medical Forensic Service of Thessaloniki for identification.

The 58-year-old had been missing since early last September when the 34-year-old – who is in her 6th month of pregnancy and is the mother of a 3-year-old child she had with the deceased – had reported him missing to the Dion – Olympus Police Station. Testifying to the police officers who were investigating the case all this time, she denied any connection with the disappearance of her partner.

But when she was called yesterday to give a new statement, it seems that she fell into contradictions and consequently “broke down” and confessed her act.

Mitsotakis: “Farmers will receive every euro they are entitled to — Solutions come through dialogue, not roadblocks”

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis assured farmers that all payments owed to them will be delivered in full, emphasizing that while agricultural workers have every right to demand more support, “extreme forms of protest, such as roadblocks, may exert pressure but ultimately disrupt daily life and do not help us move forward faster”
