Bill Murray and Kristen Wiig are set to star in the comedy Epiphany, directed by Max Barbakow, the filmmaker behind Palm Springs. The film will be presented this week at the European Film Market in Berlin by Rocket Science, CAA Media Finance, and Range Media Partners.
Epiphany follows the story of Favorite Ives, an heiress whose fortune vanishes overnight. She embarks on a two-week journey to find a wealthy husband to fend off creditors and keep her home. Along the way, she meets the eccentric billionaire Oz Bell (played by Bill Murray), who needs her spirituality and spontaneity as much as she needs his money.
The script is written by Mitch Glazer (Scrooged), who also serves as a producer. Bill Murray and Kristen Wiig are executive producers alongside Jillian Apfelbaum and Margot Hand.
Wiig, an Emmy nominee for Palm Royale, is currently filming the second season of the Apple TV+ series. Murray recently appeared in The Friend and is also part of Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme, which is currently in post-production.
