Rising temperatures, southerly winds and rain will be the main feature of weather in the coming days with a new deterioration expected from sunrise on Sunday with storms affecting Attica, according to meteorologists.
After 9 days with temperatures lower for the season, from today they return to normal values as reported by Meteo, while from Friday to Monday (17/2) it seems that the temperature will rise further and thus will be at higher levels for the season. From next Tuesday a trend for a new drop in temperature appears, about which, however, there is a lot of uncertainty, as the scattering of scenarios shows us.
Meteorologists clash over the weather for Tsiknopempti
However, when it comes to the weather on Tsiknopempti, early estimates have brought disagreement among meteorologists.
Specifically, today (12/2) Klearhos Marousakis made a post in which he says “our global model “Heracles” for several days now has been conveying quite strongly a particularly cold scenario for our country in the new week” and wonders if we will experience Tsiknopempti like in 2004 when a strong wave of cold and snow swept parts of the country.
“It was Tsiknopempti 2004, specifically February 12, 2004, when a strong wave of cold and snow swept parts of our country and from the north. The prefecture of Attica was also strongly affected at that time. Do you think 21 years later we will experience something similar? Our global model “Hercules” for several days now has been conveying quite strongly a particularly cold scenario for our country in the new week. This trend is also maintained in the morning data we just got and even carries it close to Tsiknopempti. We are monitoring this trend closely and will provide more information in the coming days with fresher and more stable data.
For now we are keeping it as a trend!,” he wrote in the post.
Kolydas: Tsiknopempti and the “forecast” of chickens!
Following Klearchos Marousakis’ initial assessment of Tsiknopempti, EMF director Thodoris Kolydas made a post on Facebook stressing that it is quite early to make such a prediction.
“Tsiknopempti and the ‘forecast’ of the Tsiknopempti!”, the EMY director wrote in the caption of his post, indirectly and humorously responding to Klearchos Marousakis’ assessment.
