Pope Francis, who is suffering from double pneumonia and remains in Rome’s Agostino Cemelli Catholic Hospital, continues to receive medication.
It was reported from the Vatican press room this morning that “the pope’s heart is responding very positively” and that the pontiff is breathing without permanent oxygen administration and is getting out of bed.
Francis is in the apartment, which remains at the disposal of each pontiff on the tenth floor of the hospital, and is only talking to a few, close associates. New information about his health is expected to be released late this afternoon.
