Trump and Musk exchange compliments in a joint interview: “I love him” – “He’s amazing” (video)

Speaking on Fox, they accused those who try to sow discord among them and presented a united front

Donald Trump and Elon Musk praised each other in a joint interview with Fox News, in which they accused a portion of the U.S. media of trying to sow discord between them.

Speaking to White House reporter Sean Hannity, the two men exchanged compliments and once again presented a united front against their critics. Indeed, they seemed so fond of each other that Hannity admitted at one point that it felt “like interviewing two brothers.“

Trump and Musk have rejected charges that the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) they have created to “eliminate waste, fraud and corruption” in many federal agencies violates the U.S. Constitution. In fact, they said, their critics are taking actions that violate the Constitution.

The interview also discussed concerns that have been raised about a potential conflict of interest, given that Musk has entered into billions of dollars worth of government contracts through companies like SpaceX and Tesla, which could affect the management of federal funds to his advantage.

When asked by Hannity how he would react if a conflict of interest arose, Trump replied that he “would not get involved.” “I would recuse myself. The truth is I’ve never asked the president for anything,” Musk added.

The interview was broadcast amid criticism of Musk’s central role in the Trump administration and alleged tensions in his relationship with the US president.

In their conversation with Hannity, however, they both made sure to clearly express their admiration for each other. “I love the president, I want to be clear on that,” Musk said. “I think President Trump is a good man. He’s been attacked so unfairly by the media, it’s really infuriating.”

Trump returned the praise, repeatedly calling Musk “amazing” and, towards the end of the interview, praised Musk’s imagination, his approach to science and his kindness. “He’s a very good man and he wants to see the country move forward.“

Musk, who described himself as “technical support” for the president, has played an essential role in implementing the barrage of executive orders Trump has signed since taking office on Jan. 20 – though many of them have run into legal roadblocks and been blocked by courts.

The two men scoffed at media speculation that their partnership would end in a rift and open conflict.

Pezeshkian responds to Trump on unconditional surrender: “A dream you will take to your grave”

“Elon called me at one point and said: “You know, they’re trying to sow discord between us.” Now they’re saying, ‘We have breaking news. Donald Trump has handed control of the presidency to Elon Musk.” In my opinion, it’s so obvious what they’re trying to do, so badly done. I used to think they were doing well at this. In reality, that’s not the case. If they were doing well (at manipulation) I would never be president again – because no one in history has received more negative publicity than I have.“

Trump estimated that Musk could reduce government spending by $1 trillion, but added that this is only a small percentage of the total waste and corruption that exists today. He assured, however, that key programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid (Medicaid) would remain untouched – except in cases where they are paid to illegal immigrants.
