Nature offered a unique spectacle to the residents of Florina, as the waterfall in Polypotamos completely froze, creating an impressive landscape. The Coral bad weather that hit the region brought polar temperatures, with mercury reaching -12 degrees Celsius overnight.

Although low temperatures are not unusual for Florina residents, the phenomenon of the frozen waterfall caused admiration among locals and visitors alike. The waterfall turned into an impressive ice sculpture, highlighting the natural beauty of the region.

Florina at the lowest temperatures in the country

Florina is consistently recording some of the lowest temperatures in the country, with the Coral storm adding to the chill.

According to Meteo data, the coldest areas of the country include:

Florina: -11.6°C (the lowest recording)

Seli, Imathia: -11.3°C

Nevrokopi: -10.7°C

Nevrokopi – Rhodope: -10°C
