Christos Megalou: The deal for National Insurance will not affect our dividend policy

The bank will decide annually the mix of dividend distribution and share buybacks - Dividend distribution from 2025 and until 2028 is expected to reach 50% per year - What management told analysts

Newsroom February 24 06:00

Piraeus Bank’s dividend policy will not be affected by the deal with CVC for Ethniki Insurance said the bank’s management and CEO Christos Megalou during the conference call for the bank’s 2024 results presentation. Megalou explicitly clarified that he would not give any further details on the discussions regarding the potential deal with CVC for Ethniki Insurance.

According to the bank’s management’s business plan data, he noted that he expects credit expansion to increase by 12 billion euros by 2028 with a “wake-up” of retail.

This year retail balanced out for the first year, while next year credit expansion is expected to rise, the bank’s management noted.
