Residents of Patras and other areas of Western Greece received an 112 emergency warning message via 112 on their mobile phones at 9:45 a.m.

According to the message, severe weather phenomena, strong in places, are forecast in the regions of Achaia, Aitoloakarnania, Ilia and the Ionian Islands, until the early evening hours.

At the same time, citizens are asked to be careful in their travels and to follow the instructions of the authorities.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms will affect the western and southern Peloponnese, Aitoloakarnania and Epirus from noon until the evening in places.

After noon, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast on the East Aegean islands and Crete (mainly the west and south), while the Dodecanese will also be affected from the evening with strong phenomena. A decrease of the strong phenomena in the above areas is expected on Friday morning (28-2-2025).
