Greek National Team’s emotional tribute to George Baldock – “For us, you never left”

Today, George Baldock would have turned 32

Newsroom March 9 04:00

The loss of Baldock remains an open wound in Greek football, especially for the national team. The team did not forget his birthday, honoring the memory of the late international player who would have celebrated his 32nd birthday today.

The Panathinaikos defender tragically passed away at his home, just a day before Greece’s historic match against England. In a touching tribute, the national team dedicated their iconic victory at Wembley to him.

On Sunday, the official social media account of the Greek national team posted an emotional message for Baldock, who was taken too soon.

“Today, George would have turned 32. His memory will remain alive in our hearts and minds forever! For us, you never left,” the post read.
