High temperatures will prevail in the coming days mainly in Eastern Europe, while towards the end of the week atmospheric circulation will be reduced, according to the available forecast data from the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr, will favor the transfer of warm air masses from Africa to the Balkans and Greece, resulting in very high temperatures next weekend 15/03-16/03.

Under these conditions, today Tuesday in our region will be dominated by southerly winds with intensity up to 7 Beaufort (Ionian Sea) and the temperature will rise across the country (maximum values 22 to 24 degrees). On Wednesday (12/3), thin clouds are forecast, which will be more dense in places in the west, central and north and in the evening-night hours in the north. Ionian, Epirus, Macedonia and Thrace will experience local showers. Winds will blow from the south with an intensity of 6 to 8 Beaufort. The temperature will rise slightly further and will reach 26 degrees.
On Thursday (13/3), occasional showers will occur in west-northwestern Greece and the north-northeastern part of the country. Winds will gradually weaken from west to east and the temperature will show a slight and temporary drop.
On Friday and Saturday (14 & 15/3) no rain is forecast. Winds will blow from southerly directions with an intensity of up to 7 Beaufort and the temperature will rise significantly. It is estimated that on Saturday: (a) maximum temperatures will reach 26 to 28 degrees and (b) in northern Crete maximum temperatures will average between 30 and 32 degrees.
