With strategic planning and effective use of European resources, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy has secured funding of €1.7 billion. €1.7 billion from the ESPA, boosting critical actions for seafaring, coastal shipping, and port infrastructure.

The Minister of Shipping, Christos Stylianides, taking office in September 2023, set as a key priority the use of European funds in order to enhance the safety, connectivity, and sustainability of the shipping industry.

He said that this success was due to hard work, a methodical approach, proper planning, and the cooperation of all stakeholders.
