A touch of Hollywood has been blowing through Messinia for the past few days, as the filming of Christopher Nolan’s “Odyssey” is taking place there, with Matt Damon in the lead role. Just a few days after the arrival of the actors in Greece, locals are sharing their impressions from their encounters with them, noting that despite being Hollywood stars, they are quite simple and approachable.
Matt Damon and his team visited a restaurant in Gialova a few days ago, where they had lunch with director Christopher Nolan, Tom Holland, and Anthony Molinari. According to the restaurant owner, who spoke on the show “Pame Danae,” the international stars showed particular interest in local products, such as olives and olive oil.
Matt Damon really liked the fava, and he even asked about the preparation process. “They are very simple and interested in local products,” said the restaurant owner, revealing the dishes they tried. Among other things, Matt Damon was impressed by the fava and asked how it is made, while he also enjoyed grilled octopus. He also chose to try lamb with cumin, while the other actors enjoyed traditional Greek dishes, which they shared among themselves.
“They came here for a meal, both the stars and the director. They are very simple. They are very interested in local products, like olives and oil. They tasted taramosalata and fish with us. Christopher Nolan came with Matt Damon, and Tom Holland, Anthony Molinari, and others also came,” said the restaurant owner.
She then added about the lead actor of “Odyssey”: “Matt Damon had lamb with cumin and tried fava, which impressed him a lot. He asked how we make it. He also liked the grilled octopus. The others tried traditional dishes, took them to share, and shared them.”
