The increases from 13% to 20% – depending on the rank and position of responsibility – that will be given this year to the officers of the Hellenic Armed Forces were announced by the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias.
As the Minister of Defense explained about the significant, as he characterized them, increases that are given following the approval of the Prime Minister and in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, will begin on April 1, 2025 and will be completed on October 1, with the total cost being 268 million euros, with 60% of this support coming from the rationalization of the structures from the 2030 Agenda

Examples:
- A Second Lieutenant of the Hellenic Navy will see a 3050 euro increase in the first year after graduation
- A Naval Officer with 18 years of service will see a 5,532 euro increase
- A Non-commissioned officer will see a 2760 euro increase
- A Corporal of the Hellenic Navy with 3 years of service will see a 2,232 euro increase
Mr. Dendias also referred to the 2030 Agenda for the Armed Forces, which concerns the change in the structure and operation of the Armed Forces and includes:
- The formation of a differentiated deterrence doctrine
- The introduction of innovation in the Armed Forces
- The creation of a new communications system
- The participation of the Greek ecosystem with 25% in the new armaments programs
The Armed Forces are becoming a development arm, emphasized Mr. Dendias, noting that the officers of the Armed Forces cannot lead a regime of financial poverty
He referred to the program to create housing for officers transferred to the region, to the medical care and treatment system, to the upgrading of military education, to the new fairer salary scale proportional to the positions.
