Weather Update: Showers, Thunderstorms & Slight Temperature Drop Across the Country

Today’s Forecast
Stable weather conditions will persist across the country, with showers and thunderstorms expected, some of which may be locally intense. The most affected areas will be the Eastern Aegean islands, with storms later developing over the Ionian Islands, western Peloponnese, and western Crete by the afternoon. Thunderstorms are also forecasted for the Dodecanese later in the day.

A mix of sun and clouds will dominate in other regions, with occasional rain showers. Light snowfall is expected in the mountainous areas of the mainland. Winds will blow from the south-southwest at 3 to 5 Beaufort. Temperatures will see a slight dip, reaching up to 16°C in the west and north, and 18-19°C in the east and south.

Macedonia & Thrace

  • Weather: Scattered thunderstorms, mainly around midday and afternoon.
  • Winds: Variable at 3-4 Beaufort, shifting to east-southeast near the coast.
  • Temperature: 8-16°C, dropping to 4-12°C in Western Macedonia.

Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Mainland, Western Peloponnese

  • Weather: Locally strong storms in the Ionian Islands and western Peloponnese until the afternoon. Light snow in mountainous areas.
  • Temperature: 10-16°C, with interior Epirus being 3-4°C colder.

Eastern Mainland, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese

  • Weather: Occasional thunderstorms in the afternoon. Light snowfall in mountainous areas.
  • Winds: West-southwest at 3-5 Beaufort, reaching 5-6 Beaufort in the southern Peloponnese.
  • Temperature: 10-18°C.

Cyclades & Crete

  • Weather: Thunderstorms in western Crete until noon.
  • Winds: West-southwest at 4-6 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: 13-18°C, with Crete reaching 19°C.

Eastern Aegean Islands & Dodecanese

  • Weather: Locally intense thunderstorms in the Eastern Aegean, with storms extending to the Dodecanese in the afternoon.
  • Temperature: 14-19°C.

Thessaly

  • Weather: Scattered thunderstorms during midday and afternoon. Light snowfall in mountainous regions.
  • Winds: Variable at 2-3 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: 8-16°C.

Thessaloniki

  • Weather: Cloudy with occasional rain and storms.
  • Winds: Variable at 2-3 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: 10-16°C.
