Latinopoulou to Protothema: I will not collaborate with ND – I speak with Samaras, but he’s not our mentor

The president of Voice of Logic speaks to Direct about Mitsotakis, Samaras, Karamanlis and Velopoulos, as well as the video featuring Anxiety. Regarding the debate on Tempi in the European Parliament, she says she wanted to defend Greece “from Arvanitis’ theatrical one-man show.”

Aphrodite Latinopoulou categorically ruled out any possibility of collaboration with New Democracy, speaking to Direct on protothema.gr and journalist Giorgos Evgenidis. Specifically referring to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, she stressed that “he took over a New Democracy and has transformed it,” accusing him of shifting toward the center-left and abandoning the party’s traditional values.

Latinopoulou also dismissed any talk of being “guided,” stating that “there is no mentor behind us,” when asked about Antonis Samaras. “I have absolute respect for him, and we talk. It’s been a while since I saw him. His advice is valuable,” she said of the former Prime Minister, while adding that although she hasn’t met with Kostas Karamanlis recently, they “maintain a very good relationship.”

The president of Voice of Logic spoke of “vulgarities” and “slanders” coming from Velopoulos’ camp. She noted that she has never insulted the president of Greek Solution, but rather offers political criticism “based on facts,” emphasizing that personal targeting reflects the ethos of a leader. “Velopoulos is attacking me because he sees that we’re gaining ground,” she said, believing that her political messaging is attracting those who want “a serious party with principles.” She also referred to the objection he filed regarding her candidacy in the European elections, responding that everything was checked and valid, dismissing the whole affair as “nonsense.”

As for the debate on Tempi in the European Parliament, she explained that her intention was to defend Greece from Kostas Arvanitis’ theatrical stunt: “It was vulgar to claim we blocked the investigation into Tempi. There’s no bigger lie. I defended my country—I did my duty. Arvanitis wanted to stage a theatrical monologue, not a dialogue, to vilify Greece, even risking cuts to funding.”

She also commented on the much-discussed video featuring the viral song Anxiety: “We can’t always be immersed in toxicity and sadness. I do feel a little down, but it makes me more determined,” she said, explaining that she wanted to send a positive message—especially to younger generations—against injustice and being targeted.
