The Oscar-winning actor has been voicing the beloved cowboy Woody since the first film was released in 1995. He announced the news through a post on his Instagram account, exciting “Toy Story” fans. The fifth film in the beloved franchise is set to premiere in theaters on June 19, 2026, according to “People.”
In the caption of his post, Hanks wrote: “First day of work for a certain Story No. 5! Need a hint? Disney. Studio B.” He will once again be joined by Tim Allen, lending his voice to the legendary Buzz Lightyear.

Although the plot details remain tightly kept secrets, director Andrew Stanton revealed at D23 Expo 2024 that the new film will focus on children’s increasing obsession with electronic games. This time, he will team up with “Elemental” producer Makena Harris, who will make her directorial debut.
