Northerly winds on Monday with gusts exceeding 100 kilometers – Video of winds in Karysto

According to the network of automatic meteorological stations of the National Observatory of Athens, the highest wind gust recorded on Monday occurred in Paximada, Karysto

Northerly winds have been blowing since the early hours of Monday across the eastern mainland and the Aegean Sea, with gusts exceeding 100 kilometers per hour.

According to the network of automatic meteorological stations of the National Observatory of Athens, the highest maximum wind gust on Monday was recorded in Paximada Karysto at 134 kilometers per hour.

  • Karysto: 103 kilometers per hour
  • Penteli: 92 kilometers per hour
  • Antikyra: 90 kilometers per hour

  • Chalkida: 89 kilometers per hour
  • Isthmus of Corinth: 84 kilometers per hour

Weather Forecast for Tuesday
According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), winds on Tuesday will blow from northern directions at 8 Beaufort, and locally in the Aegean Sea and eastern mainland, with gusts reaching up to 9 Beaufort until noon.

For most of the country, the weather will be generally clear. Partly increased clouds are expected in eastern Sterea, Evia, and the Peloponnese, while localized rain will occur in Crete, the Cyclades, and the Dodecanese. There is a possibility of isolated thunderstorms in the Dodecanese and the northern Cyclades.

Winds in the west will be easterly-northeasterly at 4 to 5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 Beaufort in the Ionian Sea. In the east, winds will be northerly-north-easterly at 5 to 7 Beaufort, locally 8, temporarily up to 9 Beaufort in the Aegean.

Temperatures will see a slight drop, particularly in the south. It will reach 18 to 20 degrees in the north, 21 to 22 degrees in the west and Dodecanese, and 17 to 19 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and the eastern island regions.

  • Winds: Variable 3 to 4 and in the east north-easterly up to 5 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: From 09 to 20 degrees Celsius.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

  • Weather: Generally clear.
  • Winds: North-easterly 3 to 5 and 6 to 7 Beaufort in the east with slight weakening overnight.
  • Temperature: From 10 to 21 degrees Celsius. 2 to 3 degrees lower in western Macedonia.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN STEREA, WESTERN PELOPONNESE

  • Weather: Generally clear in Epirus. In other areas, few clouds with localized increases.
  • Winds: Easterly-northeasterly 3 to 5 and locally up to 6 Beaufort in the Ionian.
  • Temperature: From 13 to 22 degrees Celsius. 3 to 4 degrees lower in the interior of Epirus.

EASTERN STEREA, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE

  • Weather: Cloudy with local rain.
  • Winds: Northerly-north-easterly 6 to 7 and locally 8 to 9 Beaufort with gradual weakening from noon.
  • Temperature: From 11 to 19 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE

  • Weather: Cloudy with local rain. Possibility of isolated thunderstorms in the northern Cyclades during the morning hours.
  • Winds: From northern directions 6 to 8 Beaufort with gradual weakening from the afternoon.
  • Temperature: From 14 to 19 degrees Celsius and up to 22 degrees Celsius in southern Crete.

ISLANDS OF EASTERN AEGEAN – DODECANES

  • Weather: Cloudy with increased clouds locally in the central and southern areas, where local rain and possibly isolated thunderstorms will occur.
  • Winds: In the south, north-western winds at 4 to 6 Beaufort. In the north, north-easterly winds 7 to 8 Beaufort, locally 9 Beaufort in the morning.
  • Temperature: From 15 to 21 degrees Celsius, 3 to 4 degrees lower in the north.

THESSALY

  • Weather: Generally clear.
  • Winds: North-easterly 3 to 5 and locally 7 Beaufort in the east.
  • Temperature: From 10 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Forecast for Wednesday, April 30
In the central and southern Aegean and the southeastern Peloponnese, periodically increased clouds with local rain are expected, while in the Dodecanese, isolated thunderstorms will occur, mainly in the midday-afternoon hours. For the rest of the country, generally clear weather.

Winds will blow from northern directions, 3 to 5 in the west and 5 to 7 in the east, and locally 8 Beaufort in the Aegean. The temperature will see a slight rise, reaching 22 to 24 degrees in the west, central, and north, and locally 25 degrees in the west, while in other regions it will range from 19 to 21 degrees Celsius.

In the Cyclades, Crete, and the Dodecanese, the weather will be unstable with rain and isolated thunderstorms. In the rest of the country, few clouds, which may temporarily increase in the northern mainland during the midday and afternoon hours, leading to local rain or isolated thunderstorms mainly in central and eastern Macedonia.

Winds will blow from northern directions, 4 to 6 in the west and 5 to 7 in the east, and locally 8 Beaufort in the Aegean. The temperature will see a slight further rise, mainly in the west and north.

Weather on Friday, May 2
In Crete, the eastern Cyclades, and the Dodecanese, the weather will be unstable with rain and local thunderstorms that will weaken and be limited to Crete by the evening hours. In the rest of the country, few clouds that will increase in the midday and afternoon hours, leading to local rain in the mainland and mainly isolated thunderstorms in the mountainous areas.

Winds will blow from northern directions, 3 to 5 in the west and locally 6 Beaufort in the Ionian, and 5 to 6 in the east, and locally 7 Beaufort in the Aegean. The temperature will not change significantly.
