White House press secretary Caroline Levitt told Fox News that the latest trade deal between the United States and China is “an excellent first step in the right direction.”
According to Levitt, China also agreed to “continue discussions” on further opening its market to U.S. products and goods, and pledged to “pursue serious discussions” on the impact of Chinese-origin fentanyl in the U.S.
“President Trump will continue to negotiate with China in the hope that we will inevitably reach a fair and comprehensive, grand bargain trade agreement,” she added.
